Wedding Countdown: What to do 7 days before your wedding day

December 5, 2017 / Shuttering Hearts

Counting down from months to weeks, and till the final 7 days. Finally, your wedding is happening in just 1 week time! Feeling excited? Nervous? An obvious yes! You’ve been busy preparing for this day for the past few months but what other things should you do when counting down to your big day?

1. Eat clean

You’ve tried on your perfect bridal gown and can’t wait to show it off on your actual day wedding, am I right? So eating clean is one of the most important things you should keep on your last minute wedding checklist before the big day. Take a break from eating junk food and fast food to maintain the body shape to fit perfectly in your wedding dress. Instead, try eating light like the salad, fruits, whole grains, etc. You can always indulge the sinful food after your wedding day. Always remember not to eat supper no matter how hungry you get. Try having a heavier dinner instead if you are in the right mood to eat more delicious food.

2. Rest Well

Rest, this can mean so many things. Our rest here, however, means taking time off about thinking of the wedding. Constantly thinking about your wedding days or weeks before the wedding will only lead to overstressing and pre-wedding depression. Perhaps you can hit up the gym to sweat it out, watch your favourite movie, or just simply lay back and relax.

Oh, don’t get us wrong. We don’t mean that you should completely forget about your wedding. Just take a few hours every day to do something that you enjoy to lift your spirit up. Remember to get enough sleep too, especially on the night before as most brides will be too nervous to hit the sack while counting down.

3. H20

With all the stress building up, it’s normal that most brides forget to drink water. Consuming plenty of water can keep you fresh while making your skin glow. Remember to bring along a bottle of water with you everywhere you go to keep yourself fully hydrated. If you tend to be very forgetful, it is always great to seek a daily reminder with thousands of mobile APPs that remind you to drink every now and then. By keeping yourself hydrated, you will be shining on your wedding day!

4. Payment for Vendors

We understand that it’s your wedding. You’ll probably be busy thinking about the wedding details that you might forget and worry about the smooth flow on your actual day. However, one of the things to do before your wedding is to not forget about your vendors. Those people who you hired to use their services for your wedding needs to be paid!

Prepare their payment at least 2 days before the wedding by jotting down the total amount you will have to pay for each vendor. Be it via online transfer, cheque, or by cash. You’ll be surprised how much time and hassle this will save you from in the post-wedding things to check off from. Especially the great exhaustion after the wedding has ended.

5. Wedding Vows

The definition of a vow is a solemn promise. Therefore, think of a promise that you would want to make it to your other half. It doesn’t have to be a long one if you are more of the shy type. A short, sweet, and simple wedding vow will do just fine. Although you should have written your vows in advance, we can’t blame you if you have forgotten. With all the planning and confirmation going on, how are you going to find the time to sit down and think about it anyways?

However, if you are the very few that actually got your wedding vows done weeks or even months before, congratulations! Now, it’s time to read through and practice reading it out loud. After all, you would want to say your vow smoothly without any stutter on your wedding day!

Remember to take some time to think about yourself instead of the wedding. It may seem like an easy thing to do. However, you will be surprised how stressful some brides get, they even forgot to eat! Weddings are a lot of things but if you were to look over the stress you will see the positive results. Trust us, it’s going to be worth it.

After all, it’s your once in a lifetime day. Your friends and family will be there to witness and experience it together with you. Wouldn’t you want your wedding to be just as perfect as you imagined? Well, in order to do so, you must consider these things that you should do 7 days before your wedding day!
